Privacy
This site has no accounts, no sign-up form and no newsletter. Here is, exhaustively, what it knows about you.
What the server records
- The web server logs: for each page requested, the IP address, the time, the page and the browser name. They are used to detect failures and abuse (legitimate interest, art. 6-1-f GDPR) and are deleted after 30 days.
- A visit counter, which is just a number: it records neither who nor from where.
Your photo is cut out on our server, which never keeps it. The face is analysed and the photo brought up to standard in your browser. Only the cut-out (separating the person from the background) goes through our server: the already-framed photo is sent to it over an encrypted connection, processed in memory, then forgotten — never written to a disk, never kept, never passed on to anyone. To prevent abuse, the server only counts, in memory and for ten minutes, how many photos arrive from each IP address. Like any page request, the upload appears in the web server logs described above, without the image. You can also do everything on your device, sending nothing: tap the padlock at the top of the page; the page also does so by itself when our server is busy. The finished photo exists only on your device, and only if you download it. Our other server. When it is available, the cut-out is done by our other server, in France: the framed photo is passed to it over an encrypted link between our two servers, processed the same way, in memory, then forgotten — there too, never written to a disk, never kept. If it does not answer, our main server processes it as described above.
Its own address. RapidID has its own address, rapidid.rapidall.eu: the camera is allowed on this page only, and our server refuses photos that another page would make your browser send. For one year after this move, to keep the settings you chose at its old address (rapidall.eu/rapidid/: the country, the cut-out mode…), the page reads a small fixed page of rapidall.eu in an invisible frame; nothing is sent to the server or deleted at the old address, and the page notes the date of this reading in your browser. If it cannot take them over, it asks you, before the first photo, where to do the cut-out.
What your browser keeps
The site keeps in your browser (“local storage”, not a cookie) the display theme and the language and country you chose, so you find them again on your next visit; the vision engine stays in the browser cache, so it is not downloaded twice; the cut-out mode you chose (on our server or on your device). These settings never leave your device, are not read by the server, and are erased with your browser's site data. They are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, which is why no consent is requested.
You can install this tool as an app (“Install”, or “Add to Home Screen” on iPhone): it then opens in its own window, with its icon. Nothing more is kept on your device and nothing personal is sent; it still needs the Internet.
